Find the Cause of Your Allergies, Not Just Temporary Relief
About the Treatment
Understanding Allergy Diagnosis & Immunotherapy
Frequent sneezing, a blocked or runny nose, itchy eyes, or recurring sinus problems may be more than seasonal discomfort. Allergies can affect your daily routine, sleep, work, and overall well-being if they are not properly diagnosed and managed.
At Dr Hans' Centre for ENT, we offer comprehensive allergy diagnosis and personalized treatment in the form of immunotherapy for children and adults. Using advanced allergy testing and evidence-based treatment approaches, we help identify the triggers causing your symptoms and develop a long-term management plan that suits your lifestyle.
What We Offer
Our Allergy Diagnosis & Immunotherapy Services
The first step in managing allergies is identifying what is causing the reaction. Our specialists conduct a detailed clinical evaluation and recommend appropriate allergy tests based on your symptoms, medical history, and environmental exposure.
Identifying specific allergens helps create an effective treatment plan while reducing unnecessary medications and avoiding common triggers.
A Skin Prick Test is the gold standard test to identify allergies. During the procedure, small amounts of suspected allergens are placed on the forearm, allowing specialists to observe any allergic reaction, post prick.
The test is quick, reliable, and provides valuable information about allergies related to dust mites, pollen, mould, pet dander, and certain foods when clinically indicated. Your doctor will explain the results and discuss the next steps based on your individual condition.
CRD is an advanced blood test used to identify allergy to specific allergenic protein components (molecular level) rather than the whole allergen extract. It helps differentiate true sensitization from cross-reactivity, allowing more accurate diagnosis and personalized management. Its indications include conditions where SPT is not feasible, e.g. children, severe skin allergic diseases, inability to stop anti-allergic medications, food allergies, and suspected cross-reactivity (e.g., pollen-food syndrome).
For patients with persistent allergies, this may be recommended as part of a long-term treatment plan. Unlike medicines that mainly control symptoms, immunotherapy aims to gradually reduce the body's sensitivity to specific allergens over time by retraining your immune system. The treatment has to be taken for around 2 years and drops are taken sublingually.
Treatment is carefully planned after confirming the allergy trigger and is suitable only for selected patients following a comprehensive evaluation. Regular follow-up helps monitor progress and ensure safe, effective treatment.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a specialized imaging technique that provides high-resolution images of the nose and paranasal sinuses while exposing the patient to significantly lower radiation than conventional CT scans. It helps to identify anatomical variations, assess the extent of sinus disease, and aids in planning safe and effective endoscopic sinus surgery. Useful when allergies cause chronic rhinosinusitis, repeated ear blockage, repeated sinus infections, and headaches.

The test involves tiny pricks on the skin and is generally well tolerated by both adults and children.
Immunotherapy is a treatment that gradually reduces the body's sensitivity to specific allergens and may help patients with persistent allergic conditions.

The severity varies from person to person. With proper diagnosis, trigger avoidance, medications, and appropriate treatment, symptoms can often be effectively managed. With immunotherapy, allergies can be taken care of for a long time.
